About the event
Vamos, is a small town, 26km outside the prefecture of Chania, Crete. The village is said to have been founded by Arab invaders during the 8th century, who found refuge in Crete after being expelled from Andalusia.
The first official record of the name Vamo/Vamu, goes back on the 1577! The connection between the town of Vamos, its people, its culture and its history, with Andalusia is more than obvious. In particular, the interaction between the Arab legacy and the flamenco culture is still vivid, and you may still perceive such heritage in their musical traditions.
That is why, Vamos, makes the ideal place for such an event, a summer camp that connects people with the Andalusian Flamenco and the Cretan Culture, an extremely humbling and healing experience.
